My car has a 305 engine, and I was wondering what the tranny is? I don't know
much about Chevys.

Drives: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic
I belive its the turbo 350 if its a 1, 2, D, N, R.... probably the THD350 as it probably reallisticly is... i think the later years came with the THD400, that came with the 4spd overdrive.

Drives: 85 Caprice
the 400 is a heavy duty 350 3 speed transmission. Found in trucks and suburbans.

Most likely you have a 700r4, maybe a 200r4 both those are over drive
