I have a 99 Safari with 89,000 and a limited slip locking 3.70 differencial.
I noticed a little noise going slow arounf a left turn corner 20 MPH.
Dealer mechanic drove it and listened to it and thought it either a pinion bearing or an axel bearing. Says he hears noise going straight also.
Guess I need it torn apart and replace the axel and pinion bearings. What are the chances I will have to or should replace the clutches also? Should I when it is appart anyway. It I change the fluid regularly in future should these parts go bad again?
Would towing a 2,600 pound boat have much effect on the rebuilt. differencial?
