Hi,
I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer, 4 door. When I hit a bump or ever take off
or stop the doors make a sqeeking noise. A friend said the noise is
because the doors dropped.. I have noticed the doors are lower when I
open and close. How... Can I raise the doors back up???
Thanks,
Dan

CHECK YOUR DOOR BUSHINGS AND PINS. THER ARE TWO FOR EACH DOOR, UPPER AND LOWER.
THE BUSHING ARE CRAP AND CAN BE WORN OUT OR BROKE. THEY ARE A TWO PERSON JOB TO
REPLACE, BUT THEY CAN BE REPLACED IN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES PER DOOR.

Sounds simple enough. Do you know where I can find instruction or a
diagram. Haven't got a clue as to what a bushing is... assume I can
pick one up at autozone???

OPEN YOUR DOOR.... THE HINGE THAT KEEPS THE DOOR ON THE FRAME, THERE IS A PIN,
PROBABLY ABOUT 4-5 INCHES LONG POINTED AT THE BOTTOM(KINDA LIKE A BULLET TIP.)
THERE ARE TWO BUSHINGS PER PIN. THEY ARE LOCATED AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE
HINGE, ON THE HALF OF THE HINGE THAT SHOULD BE WELDED TO THE FRAME.THE BUSHINGS
ARE LIKE LITTLE CIRCULAR THINGS THAT THE PIN SLIDE THROUGH. AFTER YOU POP THE
PIN OUT( TAP THE BOTTOM WITH A HAMMER TO PUSH IT UP, THEN WIGGLE THE DOOR TO
PULL IT OUT THE REST OF THE WAY.)
HAVE SOMEBODY HOLD THE DOOR NEAR THE HANDLE. WHEN YOU POP OUT THE TOP DOOR PIN,
HAVE THE OTHER PERSON LEAN THE DOOR OUT A LITTLE BIT SO THAT YOU CAN GET THE
UPPER BUSHING OUT. THE LOWER BUSHING SHOULD JUST PULL RIGHT OUT WHEN YOU POP THE
PIN. AND AS THEY SAY IN MOST MANUALS, INSTALLATION IS THE REVERSE OF REMOVAL.
ANY QUESTIONS LET ME KNOW.
