Hello. I have a 2004 Malibu Maxx. Love the looks, love the car, but
can't find any 'tuner' parts: K&N does not have air filter for the
car, and nobody knows if there are 'catback' or performance exhaust
systems available. Can anyone help? Thanks! Tom

hmmm... not sure you will find any either.... not really the kind of
car that "tuners" focus on. i don't see hypertech or superchips
selling anything specifically for an 04 Malibu. I would think that
any good custom tuner could go into the ECM and reflash a good tune
for you though. I would try contacting someone local to you who does
custom tuning, like for Diablo or SCT/Superchips, and has a good rep
for tuning other Chevy vehicles. Your best gains will come from a
Custom tune vs. an off the shelf product.

A good exhaust shop can fab you up a complete exhaust for about the
same $$$ as an aftermarket one, just please don't go the "fart can /
mad hornet" route with the sound :)

Surely you can find a K&N to fit.... see if you can go to advance,
autozone, pepboys, and cross reference the filter numbers for another
vehicle and get something to fit.

Good luck and don't expect huge gains from any simple bolt ons like
this, take what the manufacturer claims and cut that in half or even a
third. It is hard or impossible to feel 20hp or less.
