The only thing I know you can use would be a hypertech power
programmer which lets you change the factory tire type setting so can
change to a higher performance type tire which will change the speed
limiter on your car.

You can buy an interface cable from AKM and use an editing program like TunerCat
or LT1_EDIT. TunerCat will allow up to 255 mph top speed limiter setting. (Not
that the car will ever go that fast... LOL...)

I would recommend spending money on TunerCat and a cable from Andrew,
the Hypertech is worthless. Depending on where you are you can
also find a LOT of Impala folks with the setup ready to help. Here
in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area we have all the software and do
this sort of thing for club members.

You can also send your PCM off to Bryan Herter at PCMFORLESS and get
a good tune with all the things done that need to be done.

Don't know where you are, but if you are close to Virginia, let me
know. I'd be happy to make the adjustments for you.

Gerry, sounds like great news, I have been in touch
with Bryan and will be a test bed for the new LS1 with
the fuel management system plus my sons SCCA T-1 car
needs a good tune after changes to his systems. He
needs every HP he can get. He made the finals in his
rocky year and had speed channel coverage and
interview which was a blast for us to see.
If interest here is his interview.

Yes, Summit is one of his races in the region and is
schedualed on April 14-15, 2007.
