You don't. It's a 50K miles check by the dealer. If you see driveway
spots or the warning message comes on, take it in.

That seems wrong on so many "levels".

First, peace of mind. Knowing there is enough fluid.
Second, Forcing you to visit the dealer.
Third, not being able to check the fluid after putting the tranny to
hard use.
Forth, trusting an electronic device to tell you what a simple visual
inspection would allow you to double check.

HI All
I have been to the dealer to have my transmission fluid checked and
they didn't charge me anything.
I have to say that there are a lot of people on this site with an
extreame amount of extra time on there hands!
KEEP UP THE GOOD TIME-SHARE.

Mercedes Transmissions have been "Sealed" for years. They found that
the dipstick and it's use were major contributing factors in foreign
trash in the oil. Not on common to go 300KMI on a Benz Tranny.

Randy,
Even though my dealer is very small and they are very good about
getting me in right away, I still think whipping out the dipstick and
having a look is (would be) faster than going to the dealer.

Unless you live or work right next to a dealership/mechanic, there is
always plenty of time eaten up in taking a car in for any service.
